ACCLAIMED SINGER/SONGWRITER CAMDEN COX
RELEASES EUPHORIC NEW SINGLE ‘OVER’

Acclaimed singer, songwriter and artist Camden Cox has released her club-ready new single ‘Over’.

Crafted with the dance floor in mind, ‘Over’ fuses euphoric synth soundscapes, pulsing trance basslines and electro-pop melodies. The track is a club anthem which showcases Camden’s dynamic vocal range, undeniable writing talent and meteoric potential.

Speaking about the track Camden says:

‘Over is about those moments immediately after a break up. They’ve ended it with you – but they’re still there. I feel like a lot of people will have experienced this during lock down, it’s a claustrophobic, confusing, numb feeling that will only sink in once they leave! You can’t let go or keep your hands off each other, so is it really over?’

‘Over’ is Camden’s first single since signing with RCA, but it’s by no means her first floor-filler. She has already amassed over 45 million Spotify streams and has carved a reputation as one of dance music’s most sought after singer/songwriters. Camden has previously collaborated with globally renowned producers including Eli & Fur (‘Burning’), Joe Stone (‘Mind Control’), Just Kiddin’ (‘Stay the Night’), Tiesto, Gorgon City, 220 Kid, Anabel Englund , Sonny Fodera, Noizu and more. Not stopping there, Camden has garnered key tastemaker support from MistaJam, who called her “one of the most prolific songwriters in the dance music world” as well as BBC Radio 1’s Danny Howard.

‘Over’ is out now and precedes the start of an exciting year for Camden Cox as she prepares to release new music and continues to push creative boundaries.

HEY GIRL Radio: EMMY MELI new video “I AM WOMAN”

LOOK OUT IN 2022

EMMY MELI SHARES SHOWSTOPPING “I AM WOMAN” VIDEO

Even on four hours sleep, Emmy Meli would always journal. During her shifts at the coffee shop, the 22-year-old scribbled between serving tables. While delivering drinks on the golf course, she’d steal glances at her notebook. Then on her day-off, Meli would record the week’s writings; tackling in one such session as an anthemic track inspired by a recent dream. The song soon to be heard around the world was titled, “I AM WOMAN.” With Amy Winehouse and Lauryn Hill as idols, it was perhaps inevitable that Meli would feel most fulfilled as a mouthpiece for contemporary feminism. Coupling a powerful message with hypnotic vocal stylings that straddle jazz, R&B, pop and funk, now, Emmy Meli just has one job, and the singer is poised for a pop takeover.

After lighting up the world with a much-needed message of empowerment, breakout soul singer and songwriter EMMY MELI has shared a very special performance video of her rapidly rising single “I AM WOMAN” via Disruptor/Arista Records/RCA.

In the clip directed by Lisa Eaton, EMMY delivers a stunning and showstopping rendition of the song backed by a six-piece live band. Between the simmering bass line and solid beat, her voice exudes energy and raw power. She flexes her dynamic range as she projects the central affirmation, “I am woman, I am fearless, I am sexy, I’m divine, I’m unbeatable, I’m creative. Honey, you can get in line.”

“I AM WOMAN” has transformed from a social media phenomenon into an enduring generational anthem.

‘In The Night’ is a latest single by indie synth dream duo CATBEAR

CATBEAR is Zoe (she/her) and Sarah (she/her), two best buds who like hanging out making nostalgic electronic alt pop music, wishing they were living in the future where everyone rides a fluorescent hoverboard and neon spokey dokeys are still cool.

LOVE. LIFE
“This song is about those times I’m lying in bed, can’t sleep and all I think about are the memories that are best staying lost – obsessing over what might happen, anxiously visualising how things could turn out as the late night hours tick past. Insomnia sucks!”
catbear-hey-girl-magazine-3

Always fiercely independent, CATBEAR began life in the 2010s as indie post-punk grrl trio Cat Bear Tree, sharing the stages with Nova Twins, Skinny Girl Diet and the Tuts as they blazed a trail through the London live scene. Their captivating three-part harmonies juxtaposed with shouty gang vocals sat atop fuzzy guitars. They loved being part of the DIY music community and released 2 EPs as a trio. During some time apart Zoe had been starting to produce her own solo releases and when Sarah and Zoe got back together as a duo, a new 80s-influenced sound emerged and CATBEAR was born.

HEY GIRL Radio: Aibai

Aibai has just dropped a double release with singer Colby Hansen.

“Aura” is a whirlpool of excitement, narrating a queer relationship and the emotions of seeing a cute girl in a crowd at a concert and wanting to dance with her. “All Night” speaks about being in a relationship that you may have to sacrifice due to moving somewhere to chase your dreams and potentially losing the relationship forever due to that.

LOVE. LIFE

Aibai is a 23-year-old producer based in Minneapolis. Her songs are filled with ambient, cinematic soundscapes that create a daydream-like atmosphere. Originally focusing on making electronic music, the young musician has started to diversify her sound in her recent releases, exploring more of the alternative, indie and R&B realm. Inspired by electronic artists like Odesza and Flume, as well as indie/alt greats such as Clairo, Rex Orange County and Goth Babe, Aibai combines these two worlds, while giving it a unique flair of her own.

“Aura” featuring Colby Hansen is the ultimate masterpiece of dreamy, romantic, summer warmth. Lyrically the song is a whirlpool of excitement, narrating a queer relationship and the emotions of seeing a cute girl in a crowd at a concert and wanting to dance with her. The song exemplifies the feelings of nervousness and excitement of meeting someone new and wanting to connect on a deeper level. Aibai shares, “I feel like with the pandemic, live music has really taken a toll and this song just makes me want to get out, play a show, dance, enjoy the company of friends and live to the fullest”. Aibai describes the track as a means of bringing hope to the future of live performances and life getting moving again.
