Issue 4 of HEY GIRL, titled Scent and Sight, marks a pivotal moment in our journey—a celebration of individuality, unity, and freedom. Collaborating with renowned perfumer Azzi Glasser, we embarked on a groundbreaking exploration of creativity. Each subject was paired with one of Azzi’s unique fragrances, letting the emotions, memories, and ideas evoked by the scent guide their photoshoot.
This issue is where HEY GIRL evolved to fully embrace its mission: no more retouching, complete inclusivity, and giving every subject the power to choose their own final images. We believe it’s their body, their face, and their story—so why shouldn’t they have the final say? This approach liberated our creative process, letting the subjects shape their narratives through the lens of authenticity and self-expression.
For the first time, we included men in HEY GIRL, fostering conversations about unity and equality. We asked them honest, important questions like, “How can men be more respectful of women?” At the heart of this issue is the idea that we all have both feminine and masculine sides, and regardless of gender identity, everyone deserves the freedom to find their sense of happy.
This issue also stands against the perfectionism culture perpetuated by media and advertising. At HEY GIRL, we embrace imperfections—pimples, folds of skin, and all. Every image reflects the reality of human beauty, inspiring the next generation to see themselves as enough, just as they are.
Join us for Issue 4 and discover how the power of scent, sight, and self-expression can transform creativity and storytelling.
